PDAP is hiring!

PDAP Newsletter

Greetings, PDAP community!

We don’t usually send more than one newsletter a month, so hopefully you will tolerate our spam just this once. In addition to a job post, I’m sharing a couple recent highlights from our Data Sources database.

Jobs

We’re hiring for three part-time roles: an Open-source Facilitator, contract-based software development opportunities, and a Development Director. You can see details and apply here. Please share these with anyone who might be a good fit!

Data Source spotlight

Recently we came across two state-wide projects which do a fantastic job collecting records covering a large geographic area.

  1. The Southern Coalition for Social Justice has created a resource containing every traffic stop in North Carolina.
  2. Open Justice Baltimore has made an open-source “Case Harvester” which puts every case in Maryland’s judicial system into one remarkably usable interface.

If you know of any other solid sources of data, we want to hear about them! Reply to this email or use our form.

This year we’ve set an ambitious goal: we’d like to 10x the number of individual donations we get this year, and hit $15,000. Individual donors help us prove to the world that people think this work is important. If you are one of those people, donate here!

That’s all for now. As always, you can reply with questions or comments. Thanks for reading!
